In addition to editing services, we accept manuscript submissions from authors seeking representation and sales opportunities through our platform.
Authors may submit their work for consideration to be featured and marketed for sale on our website. This service is designed to support writers who are ready to take the next step toward publication but are looking for an alternative pathway to reach readers.
All submissions are reviewed individually. Acceptance is based on quality, readiness, and alignment with our catalogue. Submitting a manuscript does not guarantee acceptance or sale, and participation in our editing services is not required for submission.
If your manuscript is accepted, we will work with you to determine presentation, pricing, and promotional approach. Full terms, including rights, royalties, and duration of listing, will be provided and agreed upon prior to any sale or publication.
To submit your work for consideration, please reach out via the Submissions Form.
Once your enquiry is received, you’ll be provided with detailed submission guidelines and next steps.

Ink and Ash Books also offer sample edits so you can see if our editing style is the right fit for you.
Simply scroll down to the Contact Us section and send through an enquiry.
Once we get back to you, you can share the first 1,000 words of your manuscript along with the type of editing you’re looking for.
After we’ve edited your sample, you’re free to decide whether you’d like to continue working together — no pressure or obligation.

A manuscript assessment is a professional, big-picture review of your story without making direct edits to the text.
This service focuses on identifying what is working in your manuscript, what isn’t, and why. You’ll receive clear, actionable feedback on plot structure, pacing, character development, and overall story cohesion, along with guidance on what your next steps should be.
This is ideal if you’re early in the drafting process or unsure which type of edit your manuscript needs.
-
Developmental editing is an in-depth structural edit that focuses on the foundation of your story rather than the wording itself.
This service examines plot logic, character arcs, pacing, tension, stakes, and scene purpose. You’ll receive detailed feedback on where the story is strong, where it breaks down, and how to revise effectively. Comments are provided throughout the manuscript, alongside a comprehensive editorial letter.
Developmental editing is best suited for early to mid-stage drafts that need clarity, structure, and stronger narrative impact.
-
Line editing focuses on the craft of your writing at the sentence level while preserving your unique voice.
This service improves clarity, flow, and rhythm; strengthens dialogue; reduces repetition; and refines prose to create a more immersive and polished reading experience. Edits are made directly within the manuscript, with explanations where needed.
Line editing is ideal for manuscripts with a solid story that need stylistic refinement and professional-level polish.

Copy editing is a technical edit focused on correctness and consistency.
This service addresses grammar, spelling, punctuation, tense and point-of-view consistency, formatting issues, and continuity errors. The goal is to ensure your manuscript is clean, accurate, and ready for submission or publication.
Copy editing is best suited for final drafts that have already undergone structural and stylistic editing.
